Flynas Sets New In-Flight Safety Standard to Tackle MERS Virus Guard

Flynas Sets New In-Flight Safety Standard to Tackle MERS

Flynas, a low cost airline of Saudi Arabia, has added Virus Guard disinfectant wet wipes and sprays to its in-flight hygiene, to protect passengers from viruses such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) coronavirus and bird flu.

It has long been recognized that air travel facilitates the spread of dangerous pathogens, and recent outbreaks of viruses such as MERS and Ebola have heightened concerns that the cleaning procedures used by many airlines aren't good enough.

"Typically, aircraft surfaces used or touched by passengers are rarely or never disinfected, but because our product is simple to use and extremely effective for up to 10 days, we're confident it can help to eliminate the risk of cross contamination,” said Alex Sahni, company spokesperson for Virus Guard.
